Of all the Scripture passages in the Bible, I would say the 23rd Psalm is one, if not THE most widely known. Many, many people ask me to read this Psalm at their loved one's funeral service. I've preached many times on the 23rd Psalm in relation to grieving and Jesus Christ being with you in the darkest of valleys.

But this Psalm isn't just for people grieving. The 23rd Psalm is a Psalm for our everyday lives as well. Psalm 23 offers timeless truths about god's care, guidance, and provision. It speaks directly to the hearts of Christians, providing comfort, hope, and inspiration.

We all know what it is to feel lost or frightened or alone. Through the inspired words of the 23rd Psalm, we know what it means to experience the tender care of the Good Shepherd. In the midst of these challenging times, we need to know our Lord is right there with us no matter what situation we find ourselves in!

As a part of this sermon series, I'd like to encourage you to do a few things:

*     Each day, read the words of the 23rd Psalm. Cards will be provided with the words. It's my hope that if you don't have the 23rd Psalm memorized, you will at the end of this sermon series.

*     Pick up a booklet - Reflections on Psalm 23. This booklet offers words of comfort, hope and the peace we find resting in the care of our Good Shepherd. Take one for yourself and one for a friend.

*     Join us for worship each Sunday of this series (August 3- September 7). As part of our worship, we will be exploring new songs based on the 23rd Psalm, including ancient ones and very modern ones.

*     Invite a friend to join you during this sermon series. Better yet, pick up your friend and bring them with you to worship!

It is my prayer that all of us will draw closer to Jesus Christ through this sermon series.

The Lord is My Shepherd

He Owns  Me     He Leads Me      He Restores Me

He Guards Me      He Sustains Me      He Loves Me
