This Lent we are spending our time studying the everyday promises of God. In these challenging times, where it seems every week or so something else happens that has never happened before, we need security and stability. We need the promises of God, promises that we can cling to when life is hard and lonely and scary.

Questions to Ponder:

1. Read Matthew 28: 16-20 How do the eleven respond to Jesus when they see him on the mountain? How does this comfort us in our faith journeys?

2. How is it possible to "worship" and "doubt" at the same time, or is it? Does the disciples' doubt make them more, or less, like us, do we think? How do we feel about this? Why?

3. Read Deuteronomy 31: 1-8. God promises never to leave the Israelites. Why is that promise so important? Why is that promise important to us today?

4. God was preparing to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. This is a good thing, yet often good things are scary too! Why were the Israelites afraid? What kinds of things make you fearful?

5. God is telling you the promises He has made to you, He will not fail to fulfill. He will not change His mind and He will not forget. God is making you a promise He will not fail you; He will not fail to bring forth the promises He has made. What does it mean to you that God will fulfill His promises?

6. Do you think you are not worthy due to your past? Some people think they are not even worthy to go to church because they blew it sometime in the past. Remeber Peter blew it big time. Jesus wants you to get this message that He loves you and He didn't quit on you. In fact, He will never leave you not forsake you no matter what happens. He still loves you and wants to use you for His kingdom.

7. Take some time this week to look back over your life. Do you see a pattern of God's faithfulness poured out over and over again? Give God thanks for all God has done for you.
